The authorities, professors and students of the Kutaisi University of Law and Economics are terrified by the military and political intervention carried out by the Russian Government in Georgia. We consider it our duty and obligation to stand beside the government and its President of Georgia. Today we need to be strongly united.

On December 26, 2006 Election of Home Rule Chairman was held in Kutaisi Law and Economics University. Two candidates Denis Dvalishvili and Salome Meskhia stood for the position. A month before the election was formed electoral committee, which fixed the date of the election. Since then the candidates began to propagandize their candidacy. There were debates between the candidates and the voters. Precinct opened on 26 December. 10.00 a.m. Voters’ high activity was evident immediately. 254 students (247 day and 64 home study) – 85% voted from 311 students. The poll closed at 16.00 on the same day. The official result was declared at 17.00. The winner was Denis Dvalishvili – undergraduate of Bank and Insurance Specialty of Business and Management Faculty by 175 votes or 78%. Both candidates had their observer. There were other independent candidates. There weren’t any complaints about election in the electoral committee.

In 2006 Niko Chikladze published collection of exercises and tests called “Economics” with the help of rectors office. This book is one of the important steps to actually establishing system of exercises and tests in the teaching of economic discipline, which successfully works in our university and supports ultimate usage of theoretical knowledge.
